STORM LAKE, Iowa (April 19, 2022) - As The Buena Vista University softball team travels to Indianola to play a conference doubleheader matchup against Simpson College this afternoon, the team is looking to gain its 21st & 22nd wins which would be the most for the program in a single-season since 2001.  

Last time out, the Beavers split with Luther College on Friday, April 15, as the first game ended in heartbreaking fashion.  BVU, however, prevailed by taking control of the second game and never letting up. In conference play, the Beavers sit right at .500 (4-4) along with two other schools in the 6th place.

Simpson has struggled this season in conference, posting a 2-6 record among conference opponents. As Simpson sits last in conference, the Storm have been on a 3-game losing streak in the past week, making their last win about two weeks ago as they snuck away with a 1-run win vs Dubuque.  

With the conference being as tough as it is games can in the latter half of the season can come down to the wire.  

Next up, the Beavers are scheduled to play again on Wednesday (April 20), making it the third and fourth games in two days.
