STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Buena Vista University Rainbow Six squad opened up NECC Navigators playoffs with a 2-0 (7-4, 7-4) victory over the 6th seeded Hastings College Broncos. BVU improves to 7-1 overall while the Broncos ended their season 2-6. BVU will play in the semi finals on Tuesday, November 29 against the #2 seed Clark Red. The Beavers beat Clark back in week two of the regular season 2-1. 

The Beavers opened up the game on the Map Oregon where they wre attacking first. The Beavers and the Broncos played the first six rounds to a 3-3 tie before the teams switched sides. On the defenders side of the map BVU proved the strength of their team winning four of the last five rounds defending Oregon taking map one 7-4. Seth Gallardo led the way for the Beavers with 21 kills while Daniele Renteria followed close behind with 14. 

Map 2 was Border where the Beavers opened up the game being the defenders. They took control early winning five of the first six round taking the 5-1 lead before the teams switched sides. The Beavers struggled on the attacking side winning just two of the five rounds played but it was enough to take the victory 7-4 and the series 2-0. Renteria led the way with 11 kills while Andrew Melohn nad nine and Dylan Anderson had seven.
