Rainbow Six picks up big victory over Southern Illinois Black improving to 2-1 in NECC Navigators Division

Smash Navy improves to 2-1 in ECAC and Josh Tigges places 6th at Talladega

STORM LAKE, Iowa - Rainbow Six Siege is on a two match winning streak after defeating the University of Southern Illinois Black squad 2-0 in NECC Navigators division. They will try and make it three in a row tonight as they take on Coe College Club. BVU Smash Navy is on a two game winning streak in ECAC play after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Lycoming College last night. They are 2-1 in ECAC play while Joshua Tigges placed 6th at Talladega in iRacing NASCAR prospect series. It was his highest finish of the semester.

The R6 squad came out on fire playing Club House for the first map. The Beavers dominated winning 7-0. The Beavers had 33 kills in the map with Seth Gallardo leading the way with 16. Daniele Renteria followed with seven while Dylan Anderson had four. SIUE Black only had 13 kills total in the round. The second map was Oregon and was a back and forth battle. The Beavers battled from behind most of the night eventually winning the sudden death winner take all round to earn the 2-0 victory. Again Gallardo led the way with 27 kills while Renteria had 16.

The Smash Navy squad of Katlynn Burch, Eli Krob and Elphazard "Voldy" Kadisha came away with their second straight victory. After falling in the first round 9-8 the squad found their grove coming away with 9-5 victory in round two and 9-2 victory in round three. The BVU Gold team of Branden Hargreaves, Carter Hermann and Jadelyn "JJ" Ussery had a tough match falling 2-0 against Southern Conneticut State University. They sit at 1-2 in ECAC competition.

Jorge Pinon had another tough match in FIFA as he fell 2-1 and sits at 0-2 overall.

Joshua Tigges took his best finish of the year finally capturing his first top-10 when the Collegiate iRacing Prospect Series took to the high banks of Talladega for an eventful night.

After purposefully skipping qualifying, Tigges started at the back of the pack and remained there for the first half of the race, saving fuel to put himself in a good position towards the end of the race. After a mid-race caution, Tigges was only one of two cars to stay of track, not needing to pit due to the fuel he saved. Starting of the front row, Tigges spent the next handful of laps battling for the lead before being shuffled out of line and drifting to the heart of the action in the middle of the pack.

In the middle of the action, Tigges found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time when the line in front of him went spinning, ultimately collecting Tigges. After using his fast repair Tigges spent the rest of the night avoiding wrecks at the back of the pack.

Once the white flag flew, he developed a full steam of momentum and went blazing along the bottom lane, passing multiple cars before having to bail by almost spinning a competitor. Losing the lead pack with less than half a lap to go, Tigges was set to coast his way to the finish line, until a glimmer of hope emerged out of the final turn. With the leaders spinning and the lead pack left scrambling, Tigges came flying through the chaos, not lifting through the smoke of spinning cars, to cross the line in P6.
