Softball Edges St. Olaf 1-0 to Earn Split of Games on Wednesday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

St. Catherine pulled away late in the first game of the day on Wednesday, scoring four runs in the final two innings to defeat BVU, 5-0.  The Beavers, however, came back in their final game of the day by taking a 1-0 thriller against St. Olaf.

St. Catherine got an RBI single in the first and that is the way the game stood until another run-scoring single in the fifth before a two-run home run broke things open.  It then added a solo shot in the sixth for the game's final run.

Keely Bycroft went 2-for-3 to lead the Beavers at the plate as all five of the team's hits were singles.

Bycroft suffered a tough loss inside the circle, going the distance, scattering nine hits and walking two.

BVU scored a late run against St. Olaf and hung on for the narrow victory.  Final stats aren't currently available.

Buena Vista now sits at 8-4 on the year and will wrap up its spring trip with two more games on Thursday, starting with Hendrix at 8:00am CST.
