Box Score 2 The Buena Vista softball team was back in action on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference twinbill at NAIA Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. The Beavers scored in four of the seven innings of game one for the 4-0 victory before scoring five times in the third en route to a 5-0 triumph.
In game one, BVU scored single runs in the second, third, fouth and fifth innings. The Wildcats had their opportunities throughout, but stradned 10 runners.
Jordon Pilcher had the big game at the plate for BVU, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Cheyanne Boland also turned in two hits and drove in two while scoring one.
Junior Jenna Falline scattered seven hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out three.
Boland came through with a big three-run double to highlight the scoring in game two while Katie Yoder followed with an RBI single to make it 5-0.
The hit was Boland's only base knock of the game. Yoder and Stephanie Hayden each posted two, as BVU was out-hit by the Wildcats, 8-6.
Moriah Guyett pitched the first four innings to pick up the win. She scattered five hits and struck out three. Keely Bycroft pitched three innings, surrendering three hits and striking out four.
Buena Vista improves to 6-4 overall and will travel to St. Louis next weekend where it will play four games during the Wash U Invite.
