Anderson Hired as Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach

Buena Vista head men's and women's cross country/track & field coach Colt Slack has completed his coaching staff by announcing the hiring of Scott Anderson as an assistant coach.

Anderson began his duties on campus on Monday, August 22 and comes from the University of Louisville where he had been stationed while working on his master's degree in exercise physiology. 

He had served as a graduate assistant cross country/track & field coach for the Cardinals from August 2013 until March of 2015 before transitioning into a role of sports performance data analyst.

Anderson was a standout student-athlete himself at Edinboro University (Pa) where he excelled in distance running.  He was a Division II All-American in both 2010 and 2011and a conference champion for three years.  He holds a personal record of 3:48.80 in the 1,500m run and 14:04.34 in the 5,000m.  He graduated with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education in 2013.

"I am very excited to announce Scott Anderson as the Assistant Track & Field/Cross Country coach for the Beavers starting the 2016-2017 season," says Slack. "I believe Scott's resume as an athlete and a coach will help our program out tremendously moving forward.  He brings a high level of enthusiasm and a desire to help student-athletes succeed, which makes him a great fit here."
