The Buena Vista volleyball team came out dealing in all facets of the game on Thursday night as the Beavers swept visiting Nebraska Wesleyan, 3-0, to begin Iowa Conference play.
Senior Jade Schaap, who came in ranked second in the IIAC in kills per set, continues to lead the way, finishing this contest with a match-high 15 kills to go along with 10 digs, as she recorded her third double-double of the year. She was the only Beaver in double figure kills, but BVU had a nice balanced attack. Senior Jamie Navinskey followed with six kills and eight digs, Allie Cooke posted five kills and two block assists, while Ali Grein chipped in with four kills and a team-leading six total blocks.
Junior libero Kylie Roe turned in a stellar all-around match with two kills, six assists and a match-high 16 digs.
As a team, the Beavers had 39 kills and only 13 hitting errors while registering a season-high 19 total blocks.
Kierra Harder and Sidney Mell each had 10 kills for the Prairie Wolves which had their three-match win streak snapped with the loss.
The win by BVU was its fifth straight as it improves to 6-3 overall. The team jumps right back into action tomorrow night as it plays Waldorf College at 7:30pm to open play at the Wartburg College Tournament.
