Women's Track & Field Team Earns Multiple National Academic Accolades

The Buena Vista women's track and field team was among the nation's best when it comes to academics for the 2016-17.  It received Academic All-American Team honors by the USTFCCCA.

To be eligible, the team must maintain at least a 3.00 GPA, and this year's Beavers squad came through with a 3.18.  A total of 183 teams across the nation were represented.

2017 All-Academic Teams & Scholar Teams

In addition, the team also had multiple individuals named to the 2017 Academic All-American Team.

To be eligible, the individual must maintain at least a 3.30 GPA, become a national qualifier or finish the season ranked in the top-50 of at least one individual event or the top-35 of a relay event.

This year, seniors Madison and Mallory Spear earned the accolades for BVU.

Mallory finished the outdoor season ranked 37th in the 200m dash while Madison was 25th in the 100m hurdles.
