Men's Tennis Falls to Morningside in Home Finale on Wednesday

The Buena Vista men's tennis team wrapped up its 2017 spring home schedule on Wednesday afternoon with a non-conference home match against Morningside College.  The Mustangs spoiled the finale for the Beavers with an 8-1 victory.

Seniors Chris Habermann and Jesse Brace made the most of their final career home match by notching yet another doubles win with an 8-4 victory at number one.  The duo improves to 15-8 on the year.

The Mustangs went on to win the final two doubles bouts and took all singles singles matches in straight sets.

BVU head coach Brett Groen was pleased to see the progress and effort the team put forth on Wednesday, especially during singles play.

"When it got to singles play, by far the best singles I have seen out of our three, four, five, and six players on the season so far," he said.  "That can only be a good sign as we head into our final conference match this weekend and still four matches to go on the season."

Buena Vista will wrap up its Iowa Conference schedule this Saturday on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan when it takes on the Prairie Wolves at 9:00am.  The team will then square off against Concordia (Neb.) later in the day at 2:00pm.
