Upset Bid of Unbeaten Simpson Comes up Short for Men's Soccer

The tough defense of the Buena Vista men's soccer team was in full force on Saturday, but unbeaten Simpson held off the upset-minded Beavers with a 2-0 victory inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.

Simpson got on the board and broke the scoreless contest midway through the first half before adding a late goal to make it a two-goal margin.  The Storm held a 22-7 advantage in total shots, including a 10-2 mark in shots-on-goal.

Seven different players came through with one shot for BVU which has now dropped three straight.

The Storm remain as the only team in the Iowa Conference without a loss (12-0-1, 4-0 IIAC).

Buena Vista will look to notch its first win of the conference sesson when it travels to Wartburg on Tuesday night for a 7:30pm contest.
